Intermittent no start when hot: update
Took it to a different dealership. After having it there for 8 1/2 hours, I call back, they cannot duplicate the condition. They also had no answer for the "Fail safe mode" stumbling on cold startup.
He says "We found a Technicians Service Bulletin, so we're going to update the computer."
Okie dokey. So I guess they did. I didn't find the ecm update sticker on it when I picked it up, but the shift points seem to be different.
Who wants to bet money that didn't fix the problem? It happens more often in hot weather, but a cold front moved in after after I scheduled the appointment.

I had the same problem on my 04 s crew. It was about -20 deg. out and I had the truck running earlier that evening. It was still warm I thought,so I jumped in it and took off, it went into safe mode until I shut it off, restarted it then it was fine. The one thing I did notice was that the outside thermometer showed the outside temp. being about 15 deg. out when it was in safe mode. I dont know if that had anything to do with it or just a coincdence. Its never done it since even when I did start it and drive it cold on purpose to see if would do it again.
