Should I trade?
I know it's long, but please bear with me...
I'm looking at a 2005 4x4 SuperCrew XLT. I'm getting a heck of a deal on it - $1500 under simple plan price and I have committed to buying it. I'm considering whether or not to trade in my '99 F150 regular cab, flairside, 4x4, ORP, Trailer Tow, etc. with 125k on the clock. I would like to keep it to save miles and wear on the new ride as I drive about 20-25k miles per year. I'm being offered $6500 in trade, so I don't know what I should do. I'm trying to weigh the options between money saved on the new truck, extra insurance, tax, license costs, and the attachment I have to the old truck. It was my first new vehicle and I've had it for 7+ years and 125k miles. It still runs great, but you never know when they will start nickel and diming you into a hole.
OK, now, after you've read my long sad sob story, what do you guys think? I'm torn, and have until Friday to decide...I pick the truck up on Sat. morning. And, of course, pics will follow soon afterwards!!

How about selling your old truck outright? $6500 doesn't seem like much for trade-in, but it depends on what part of the country you live in, too. If you can sell it privately for $8K, just drive the new truck and be rid of the old one. Rarely does it make sense to pay insurance and maintenance on another truck in addition to your new one.
