2005 Explorer tire pressure warning system
I needed to repalce a tire valve on my 2005 explorer.
(wife + curb = wheel, tire, control arm and $$)
Anyway, I now have a sensor failure alert on the dash.
How do i get the tire pressure system to accept the new sensor?
A friend of mine has a Snap On Modis and that didn't even show any tire pressure options.
I know the computer is on the CAN...Can any of the PC based scanners on the market get to it?
Thanks, Howard
I just paid a dealer to reset it and they wouldn't let me actually watch but I think it goes something like this....
cycle key 3 times, hit brake pedal twice, cycle key 3 more times ending in the on state, then put a magnet over each valve stem one wheel at a time. Each time you apply a magnet to the wheel you should hear a beep indicating the sensor was read.
If there are any ford mechs out there can you please confirm whether this is all / the correct steps. I would really appreciate it.
Thanks!
