Bug shield install-'05
i'm assuming the grill frame has to be removed to install a bug shield? is it sandwiched between the grill/frame work and the hood? i'm considering chrome or maybe stainless because the truck is black and i think it would just look better for color contrast.....i'm new to '04-06, i guess you could say i've crossed over from '97-03....('05 4.6 scab XLT,355 LS, tow package, 145"wb, nice truck, i've already racked up 197 miles!) any comments appreciated! paul

It's not a hard job by any stretch of the imagination.
Just remove the 6 nuts along the hood lip (could be 8) and the 4 bolts that are on the supports.
remove the grille, put on the bug shield, and then put the grille back on.
Be really carefull on how tight you tighten every thing up, it's not hard at all to overtighten and crack the grille.

thanks..pic is small,(the one on the left) does it go all the way across or just at the grill area? i've seen some SS ones on ebay that go only the width of the grill. BTW what was Fords cost on this? i don't know of any other color that would go with a black truck. thanks...!

Sorry about the small pics. The bug shield only goes over the grill. I found it on Ebay for $75. If you go to Ebay.com, search for Item number: 8025367908, there is a picture of it on a black truck. Hopefully that will help.
