Hello yall... My son gets his license in a year so were looking for a truck to do as a project. 1968-1978 ish ford 4x4 single cab. Needing restored. Not really looking for something that is rusted too badly. We can do mechanical stuff but really hit and miss on body work. Can you guys send me in the right direction? Thanks
My dad has a 49 F100 and a 53 F100 that he needs to sell; they're just waiting for someone to restore. I know this wasn't the years you requested, but if interested, let me know. If I had room, I'd keep them for myself.

Very good models to restore. '49 is an F1, not F100.

I have a 78 short wide bed F150 4X4 that I bought new. It has no significant rust except on the left front fender that is aftermarket from a light hit about 20 years ago. It has a 400 that I built and is mechanically sound but needs painting badly. To do it right you should consider replacing the left front fender and front bumper. Everything else will be very light bodywork and repaint.
I replaced the truck one year ago, but my wife will not let me sell it. It was the first new vehicle we ever bought. My youngest is still in college, however, so I need the money for tuition. My wife might let me sell it since we need the money for tuition.
I would expect an absolute top dollar price for it, but I don't know where you could find a better project truck for your purposes. This truck has less than 90,000 original miles.
