Sorry, not a truck question but my 1986 full size Mercury blows real hot air through the vents for a short time after start up then decides to blow only luke warm. Suspect that it is the climate control but how do I check it out? Replaced the thermostate and made sure the coolant was full. No amount of adjusting the controlls help between auto or manual. Seems like lots of heat is there, just likes to throw cooler air after a short peroid of driving.
Never thought of that. Just got the beast and now it is time to get into it to check things out. Hate the thought of fighting all the air conditioning components sandwiched under there but will have to have heat as the better half will not put up with it.
Seems more like a temp sensor switch that decides to cool down the temp. It will heat up real hot then cools the temp back down after the first afew minutes for the rest of the day. I will have to find this sensor and convert to manual control if possible.
