For all R/C nuts out there, here is a thread.

I've been R/Cing since I got my 97 Stampede in, well, in 97. Now I got a Hobby Zone Mini Mauler. It's sweet.

i was into R/C before i had my blaster, and then i got a truck. i have a bash-ready revo with mach .26 in it, with about $1100 invested. i have over shot the 55' table top i used for my blaster, and some times it landed on it's wheels, sometimes not. it flipped back over, and kept rolling. i have done a front flip, and a double backflip so far. haven't run either of these in a while- i have a excursion body on it currently, and the rear 1/4 panel is GONE, the huge pipe sticks out 1-2'' past the body.

i also have a Jato, with "only" about $500 invested. let me see if i can dig up some pics.

Huh?. . .wha was that chris?. . .not really paying attention. . . staring at your avatar

Preppy, Average price is like $500 for a ready to run out of the box truck. Thats a stocker with pull start, and no fuel or ignition accessories. You need to buy those separate. But it comes with the radio and motor and all that, there not like the R/C boats and ARF planes I'm used to dealing with.

I also started witha stamped, but it was in 2002. It lasted 6 months. I sold it due to poor chassis designe. primarly around the the motor mount where the back chassis attaches (2 piece chassis held together by plastic)

Then in a april i bought HPI savage. Roller. Built it up for bashing (huge air) Then i decided to make it a racer.
At the time i was running a XTM 24.7. But i ditched it. What a pos, dont buy it.
I just bought the mach .28 (the same one that is on the lst, except .2 bigger)
So heres my current upgrades:
Mach .28
30 wt on all shocks
shock limiter mod (made the stance lower by 2 inches)
40 series mambo wheels(gay chrome)
panther tires (not sure which ones)
Robinson racing Spur and Clutchbell set
Robinson Racing Vented flywheel
teflon shoes 1.1mm springs
30kwt front diff (not sure what th eback is, have rebuilt it yet)
cam type servo saver
hitec 645mg high torque servo
JR xs3 pro radio (boom, good radio)
Gpm racing 4.7mm TVP(twin vertical plates,POS,switching to carbon fiber)
Little mods gallor, half tank lean mod(to correct half tank lean)
Steering mod. Some others.
One piece motor mount.

On for pics. My truck is in the shop being broken in right now so illl haft to look at it again for more mods. I threw out my shoulder so i was hurting myself trying to get it to start.

i have had many rc everything, i even had a 1/4 sukhoi too, sold that on ebay. i still have a 1/4 coursair i fly plus a big stick and a four star 40, i have a nitro boat that will do almost 100 mph. plus cars and trucks. I also used to run a hobby store up here in burlington iowa. so i have had my hands into everything. Big boy toys cost big money though, i once had 2500 in my 1/3 scale spacewalker and only flew it a few times before trading it to a guy for a bunch of oher stuff. I like flying the best because of the stunts and speed you can do.

Ok, that is the only mod I have done to this truck so far. More so out of necesity than need. The truck come stock with the pull starter, BUT it comes with a chuck and long bit for a cordless drill as a back up. Right out of the box, the first couple starts broke the pull starter (though I was starting a weed eater ). I gutted it and put it back together with just the chuck and I will never go back to pull again. Don't even need to remove the body to start, just slide the bit in front of the right rear tire and a quick pull of the trigger fires her up. . .like the R/C helo motors.

What brand of truck has a plastic frame? This one has a machined aluminum frame. . .figured with the pounding these things take it would be standard

Just curious.......Did the online, mail-order hobby shops do you in?
