I think I am going to get the AIS system...
I am hoping the increased airflow reduces the CCV blowby getting into the intake.. Just fixed a leak in the Y pipe boots for oil...
How long on average does the element last...
Is it re-useable or disposable....? if the latter...How much do they run??

The elements are disposable and replacement cost is around $75.
these folks carry them: http://www.blackclouddiesel.com/Ford/intakes.htm
Depending on where u live they can last a long time because of their ability to
hold a lot of dust. They're typically iused on heavy equipment :
element made by Donaldson.
you could do a ccv mod so no oil gets into your intake. you just re-route the ccv hose to a different location. do a search there are a lot of people who have dont it and many different ways to

I have done some look see on that mod....
Can it be just vented to outside air?? with a filter?
Is there positive or negative pressure on that hose?? or just blowby?

Blowby vented with NO filter to outside. U can buy a filter kit for internal venting
...about $260 or so.
All the AIS will do is filter the air. It won't do anything to reduce oil vapors from entering the intake system. I had the AIS and removed it because it caused the Y pipe boots to start leaking. The restriction gauge was always showing half restricted from the day it was installed.

I have the AIS and never have any problems with restriction guage.
I have read of others showing a restriction with the AIS. Maybe my stock PSD is heavy breather. I had a problem and took it off. The AIS still won't do anything to get rid of the blow by vapors. It's an air filter and nothing more.
