Open Nuckle Front Dif
I have a 73 F250 Highboy with a closed nuckle, Dana 44, drum brakes, light duty front end. I'm interested in putting in an open nuckle, disk brake front diff. I know I can put in anything from 76-79. Does anyone have any suggestion or comment that may help make this as easy as possable. Thanks

I don't know what kind of input your looking for but this may help you out. I have a 72 F250 4x4 high boy that i just put a 77.5 low boy F250 dana 44 in. It is a high pinion, the driveshaft fit fine, i am running the manual steering and nothing hits though the pitman arm comes very very close to the shock. I am planning on putting the whole steering set up out of that 77 in the 72 soon. The only thing i did have to do is cut off the shock mount from the original axel because on the 77 axel the shock mount is in the front of the axel tube and on the original axel its on the rear of the tube, so i just welding it on. I can't say much for the brakes yet cause i haven't hooked them up yet. At the same time i put in a dana 70 dually rear in so my braking will be different. I don't know if you are gonna change master cylinders and or proportioning valves too, i put a new master cylinder in thats for a F350 dually. I hope this helps you out.
