Dipstick reading off??
I have a 2002 f150 with the 4.2 V6.. When i bought the truck from the dealer the reading was inbetween min-max... when i changed the oil, it was the same thing again..So I left it. now im on my 2nd oil change, and i got the same thing and now i just wanna know what the deal is? I was always told this truck took 6 quarts...Whose right, me or the dipstick? The truck doesnt burn or leak oil.

Well, they somehow decided that they do not want the oil to be at the upper limit after an oil change. Makes no sense to me. Any vehicle I owned always ended up with the oil at the upper limit after an oil change. It's not like the oil generally gets more. Every person I know keeps the oil at the upper limit to have a safety margin in case it should start to use / leak.
