Let'r Whistle!!!!

What's the best exhaust system out there for the most whistle. I don't care about rumble I want it to sound like a turbo diesel, not a Big Block....that's what my 496 cu in boat motor is for.

well with one comes the other. You need to open it up via straight pipe or exhaust with cat delete and possibly muffler delete too. Alot of people on this site have been very pleased with the MBRP system(me included). At low rpm it will make it whistle more but as it gets to 2500 and up ittl sound like a big block.

Whistle

I got a 4in kit for my 03 6.0L from a place on ebay called T&D Diesel Performance. It is a straight through kit, that uses your stock cat....well mine looks like a stock cat...At idle the truck sounds like a jet spooling up. While driving you really have to hammer on it for the low rumble to appear. Only down side is the 4in is kinda big and rubbs on the body pinch seam on the cab, and cross member. I removed mine, and clearanced the pipe a bit...hammer... and no more rubbing, as long as the clamps were not tightened really tight, it can be remove to do this, but once they are tightened they pinch the pipe, and are hell to remove. The kit uses a 2 piece downtube, which makes it a little easier to install.

The MBRP we sell has the best sound overall, especially if you get the cat test pipe for racing and off roading etc. If you have a 2003 or early 2004 the turbo whiste is incredible, the later trucks are a little milder as Ford changed the turbo wheel to make it quieter. If you have any questions just call us up and we'll be glad to help you.

I have heard a bully dog first hand and liked it, I am curious if there are other people out there that would say bully dog is weak compared to my XXX exhaust system

I run 5" Stacks from Grand Rock.. With the outlet that high and the stright pipe from the turbo back.. The whistle is Loud as Heck... I get asked many times a Day if its "Getting ready to take off"

So i would imagine that any Stright through NO CAT system would sound the same!

my friend has a mbrp system and it sounds sick. i gutted my cat and u can hear it whistle a little more but i dont wanna put an exhaust on yet but i plan on goin with a mbrp. you wanna hear the sickest whistle, just take ur cat off and let ur exhaust run off ur downpipe. SOOOO loud its pathetic. i did it for a few days, everyone loved it and it got heads to turn. cops didnt even care it was so loud, they would follow me and pull up on the side look at me and keep goin.

I don't want to run the stacks through my bed, but I am sure it sounds crazy. With any kit, would everyone recommend No Cat? I am wondering if it is worth the risk to run without the cat. If I went with an MBRB or Bully Dog kit and didn't do a Cat delete, would that be sufficient, or do I really NEED to remove the cat to get that wistle I am after?
