I've had my new 96 5 spd for about 3 days now. The guy I bought it from said the whole clutch/brake pedal assembly was replaced but it was somewhat hard to get into first gear and reverse. Then tonight I was drving home and shifting and felt a "pop" in the pedal. After that I could still shift, but second and third gear were harder to get into. Then when I got home I found it all but impossible to get into reverse, (I got it though) I looked at the pedal assembly and all seems well, but I do have about an inch and a half of pedal play. I can't recall if it was like that before the "pop" though. Any ideas guys?

Reason: Wording
maybe the bushing is toast... or check the silver thing(splines and goes onto shaft) that the rod goes onto.. maybe it stripped... this happened to another guy a while back over at tds..
both parts are cheap around 10 for splined silver thing and less for bushing(there is also a premanent fix sold on ebay) heim joint for about $45 provided that is the problem... i guess you could of bent your clutch fork also.. take a look at it.. let us know what you find.
