reverse power conversion ???

So I finally found a rust free truck to go with the two in various states of rust that I have.(65 250 & 67 f100 Ranger). The truck I just purchased is a 70 f100 lwb with a fresh 302. There are some definite problems with the shifter linkages in the 3sp column shift. No power anything. The factory air has been ripped out.

This is what I am thinking of doing, please tell me if I'm thinking right.

I would like to swap out the auto trans from the ranger (352/w cruis-o). Obviously the column as well. This should be a simple bolt up/column exchange, correct ? (or would a c-4 w' OD be my best bet ?) While doing that I would add the rangers power steering as well. Am I still on the right track here ? I am guessing that I should either rebuild the steering box or core it for a reman before starting, correct ?

Step 2 would be the disc brake conversion. The ranger has factory power discs that I would swap out. Would it be better to stick with the 70's suspension and just do kingpins/rotors/spindles ? The 70 seems true and tight, so I'm thinking it would not make sense to drop and exchange...Am I thinking right still ?

Thanks to all for looking/responding, and I apologize if I'm asking stupind or redundant questions. I did several searches before asking these questions.:-)

reverse power conversion ???

Kinda hard to keep up with all of those trucks. Hopefully I can keep up
1- tranny from 352 will not fit 302, the C4 would be a good choice
2- Yes with the Ranger ps, bring everything over, if it aint broke, don't fix it
3- on the brake conversion, I think it is less work to swap the complete I-beam, if it was good in one truck it will be good in the other
Hope this is some help :-)

Thank You-
In a way I hold you responsible for the evergrowing collection trucks. I was just following your advice about a donor truck after all
Don't know why I was trying to put the tranny on that 302, must of been the beer. A c4 with the rangers column seems to be the way I'll go. Regarding the p/s-I should go ahead and rebuild or core swap the box now, correct ?
Yeah it will probably be easier to just pull the whole Ibeam and drop & swap.
Looks like I'm going to end up with plenty of parts to sell. Thanks again.

That is a scary thought, knowing that I have that kind of influence over people. ;-)
Don't do anything to the ps gear, unless you know it's bad. It may be just fine, they are pretty tuff.
