Fairlane is under new ownership now there products may or may not have better quality control. My friend used one on his 55 panel didn't have the same prob as John ( his name is John also ) but I think he had his share. By the way I am batting zero for aftermarket parts fitting with out some sort of help.

Even NOS steel parts have fit issues. Fiberglass has even more than it's share due to the nature of the beast, that's just a given. The resin doesn't cure 100% for some time, so how soon the parts were pulled from the mold, how they were stored, shipped, handled etc has a major impact on the fit. Classic Truck magazine has been doing a completely new parts build-up of a 56 F100, and even the donated parts from the manufacturer (knowing they would be written up in the magazine I'd expect they'd send their best examples?) had fit issues, IMHO I'd expect you'd probably have less problems if you bought the fenders and hood separately, fitted them together on your truck then glassed them together in place (not to mention saving a lot on shipping costs). The ready made 1 piece assembly may fit the mold exactly, but that doesn't mean it will fit a particular truck, and it will be much harder to adjust without cutting it all apart again.
Don't be afraid to call Mid Fifty and ask about theirs, in my experience with them they'll tell you the truth, warts and all, about anything they sell. VERY good people!

And trucks were considered utilitarian only, fit and finish were not high on the priority list.
