Im looking at a 06 F250 XL Reg cab 4x4 5.4l Auto for $23,000 New. Theres an 06 F350 XL $27,000 new with the same setup, same color, damn thing looks exactly like the other. Ive looked underneath both and i do not see any difference! I dont wanna pay 4K just for the F350 emlbem and some extra springs.
Whats the differences of these two other then being a 3/4 ton and a 1 ton? Or is that the only difference? Thanks
I believe the breaking system on a 350 is a little bigger than a 250 and the gear ratios, but other than the springs and emblems thats about it as far as I am aware.
Also the trucks ive looked at are kinda raked. If i put a leveling kit in there after i bought it(after i drove it home from dealership), would it void the warrenty?
Looking at the 05 ratings (all I have handy) The payload on the reg cab 4x4 has the 350 at 1400 lbs more! One thing you should notice is the rear ride height... the 350 has 4" blocks making it sit 2+" taller in back.

From what I've read the brakes are the same. Springs are different and the axles are different. If memory serves me the 250 has 35 spline axles and the 350 37 spline axles. I know there are a cople of threads around here about the 05 axles.
I know those are Man. Trannys but you should get the idea. It will depend what suspension Package that is on the truck. Camper, Snow Plow, Heavy Service suspension or Stabilizer Packages!!
1) The Emblems
2) The Front Springs GAWR (4000-5600) actually can be the same depending on options
3) The Rear Springs GAWR are 6100 F250 or 7000 F350
4) GVWR on F250 is 9000 and either 10,100 or 10,000 on the F350
5) Rear Axle F250 is rated at 6200 and the F350 is rated at 7280
6) Rear Axle shaft spline minor diameter on F250 is 1.36" and on the F350 is 1.50". Also the splines is 35 on the F250 and 37 on the F350
I have two F250's, and it really depends on what you are going to do with those trucks. Try looking at the commercial trucks, they may be a bit cheaper and the 350 might be a better catch. The 350 is a beast, but you won't be sorry when that heavy load or pull is calling.
The price differance between a F250 and F350 with the same equipment should be right at $900.00. Thats about how it comes out when you build them on Ford.com.
