I am in the process of swaping cabs on my 1979 F100. I decided now would be a good time for power brakes and TILT steering! I bought a column on ebay for a reasonable price and it needed all kind of parts. Being I work for a ford dealer parts were cheap. My problem is I put all new bearings and the pivot pins in this coulmn and it has play. It has slop in the tilt part of the coulmn and I am stumped.
I did a coulmn for my 1989 F150 this summer (when the lock cylinder actuator broke) and it has play in the same spot.

I think the play is between the upper flange and the pivot pins. I test fitted the NEW pivot pins in the lower flange when it was apart and they were SNUG. I locktited the allen head screws into the lower flange so they wouldnt loosen up. Anybody else ever been through this?
