computers...oh boi..

can someone tell me where the ecu is located on a 89 f150, now has a 5.0 and as I'm about to transplant a 89 f250 4wd 351 into it I've been told the ecu will have to be replaced...as I'm not familiar with fords so much, also what does the ecu look like?, has seen GM computers but never a Ford. Thanks in advance for any help..

I have seen some under the center of the dash above the hump in the floor, and the book says some of them are under the passenger seat. If looks like a silver box with a very large plug with lots of wires coming out of it.

I think this is posted in the 87-96 forum too, but the computer is behind the drivers side kickpanel.
