christmas sucked this year for us, too many bills and not enough extra for stuff. kids did okay from the grandparents but me and jenean shared a bag of m&ms. maybe next year the cash will be there. but glad all you guys had a good one

get this ! the crap is still happening to me. Friday my wife wanted to head south to go visit her mother for a couple days. i said see ya ! but alas fifteen minutes later my cell phone was going off and it was her. The ford escort had took a dump. and left her and my two kids and the twin babies stranded south of burlington on the side of the highway. And knowing it was cold out i jumped in the mini van and headed out to rescue them. ( wearing shorts and a t-shirt ) i get to them and jump out ( freezing ) and tell them to get in the van while i look over the car real quick. wont start sounds like turning over way too easy no compression, timing belt broke i think. Okay i get back in the van tell the wife to go back to the escort cause were going to push it about 2 miles to a garage that will look at it next week. okay she goes i go to get closer to the escort and the van stalls. Now it is not doing anything. wont crank wont even make a noise, plenty of juice in the battery, i think it is electrical. So here we are 2 adults 2 kids 2 babies 2 cars broke down on the highway at the same time. had to call two wreckers to come get us. now we have no cars running and no cash to fix them and no idea what to do now. but hey things could be worse.

 

Damn, you're having my kind of luck, but it looks a bit worse... the trans went out of my van, I had to back it up a hill to be able to park it off the side of the road, then called for help. The heater core I replaced in my truck about a year ago is dumping coolant out on the passenger floor, and the trans is going out of my wife's car, but is holding for now, just no overdrive. Aren't vehicles just so much fun?

 

Yeah and of course it happens right at the worst possible time too. i dont need this right now for sure. But we will struggle thru it i hope. jeneans borrowed her moms chevy station wagon and i borrowed my moms chevy blazer for a few days. i got to get to work and she has to run the babies around. i cant wait to hear from the garage we towed the van too, that should really make my week. And fellro i plan on getting that money to you at tax time, i know its been awhile already but i wont forget you.

 

no worries, I know you have your hands full taking care of everything the way it is. Hopefully the van will be something simple. Timing belts on those Escorts aren't too bad, just sucks that you have to hire it, but at least you had family to fall back on, I have the same benefit, so it could be worse.

 

Wow! You guys are starting to make me not want to drive anywhere! I was trying to think back to when my last string of bad luck was - I'm afraid I'm due. Sure it'll get better.

yeah i was wearing shorts because the wife keeps the house so damn hot that long pants are not a option, i didnt even have my cell phone with me or my coat or my wallet for that matter. yep i was asking for a break down for sure. lol now i hope i not offending the ford gods by driving this blazer for a few days.
