I'm getting a grinding noise at times, and a funky howling when I press in on the clutch so I'm guessing it is clutch time. I have a predator tuner, and the other stuff, so should a stock clutch be fine?? or what comparable in a LUK or southbend?? I've heard horror stories about buying the "entry level clutch" and being chipped having them not want to hold up past 15-20k miles. Does my 00 4x4 stroker have a dampened flywheel?? What vendor has the best deals on clutches, or the best place to get one. Hate to dump a ton of money on a new clutch. THanks-77. Any idea on cost for aftermarket or stock clutch??
I wouldn't put a stock clutch back in it, they cost too much money for what you get. My standard LUK repset (<$600 from several forum sponsors) has about 50,000 miles on it now and shows no signs of wearing out at all.
You can spend double or triple that amount on a stronger clutch, but it would be overkill, your current mods are not enough to overpower the standard LUK....you pretty much have to have aftermarket injectors to do that.
