transmisson Help
I have a f 150 4x4 5.4 2002 last night the overdrive light came on. Now the truck will only move in reverse. When you put it in any forward gear it kills the engine and check engine light stays on. Tranmisson fluid is ok HELP. My son just got accepted in the USAF Wed. Would like to get this solved for him before he gets his orders.

i dont know if its an internal problem or computer related. I think i would pull the posistive cable off battery. crawl under the truck and check the electrical plugs on the side of the transmission. maybe pull them off and clean- reinstall. make sure all are connected. then reinstall the battery cable---- hope for the best. might also see if there area any codes given by the computer since the light is on, but you probably can not get to Auto Zone to check codes?.
