carb adjust.
Can anyone help me with adjusting the new Holley 750 carb on my 460? I set the floats and it seems to run OK. I can't get the choke set right and the instructions that came with the carb are no help. Is there anything else I need to set? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Based on the info you gave, if it works don't fix it.Is there something that's going on that you're not sure about? Have you checked the accelerator pump setting at full throttle with the "engine off" How's the idle?......

You need a holley carb book. You can find them just about anywhere that sells books. Autokrafters.com sells them online. I think i see performance manuals on my internet screen right now! Once you have the book, read it. you will learn more about your vehicle than you ever dreamed and it won't hurt too bad. Study about the Holley power valve and use the formula to discover which one your motor needs. Discover how to rejet your primary and secondary jets. Learn how to change out an accel pump cam. Holleys are the most versatile carb on the market. Take advantage.

I bought the Holley book and I think it will help. I have the elect choke with the port for the manifold heater. Holley tech support says I can leave the port open. Others say to connect the port and still I've heard to block the port. Any ideas?

All it is, is a Heat Cavity.
It doesn't do anything else.
Maybe find a piece of chromed metal, cut and drill holes to fit.

As far as the heat tubes into the choke housing.... Carburators Unliminted (an emissions and carb rebuilding/jetting business) told me that that is a controlled and calibrated vaccumn leak and it's can be left disconnected. It'll just sometimes take longer for the choke to open fully when the hot air would have opened it sooner.
