which head gasket

I am getting ready to build my 390 want to use pump gas everyday driver.
I have already bought the following items:
New lifters
crane cam 343391
HV oil pump
adjustable rockers
dsc push rods
pretty sure I am going to use silv 1131h pistons
edelbrock 750 with performer intake debating on rpm
windage tray
flowtech 12540flt headers
heads are being ported d2t

What head gasket should I use? I am thinking of using the .020 shim gasket, Does this install dry and what bolts do I apply thread sealant on.

If somebody has time to run numbers for

If somebody has time to run numbers and let me know the advantages of the rpm manifold compared to the performer I would greatly appreciate it. I also have been looking for an an idiots guide to adjusting rocker arms in this forum and have not found. If somebody wants to take the time to write one so that newbies like myself can quit asking q's that would be great. This is the best forum I belong to and greatly appreciate all your guys help. Thanks.

NO!

The steel shim cannot be installed dry! You need to coat it with something like Permatex Copper Spray-A-Gasket. If you dont, there's about a 90% chance it will leak.

Copper permatex spray is what I've used in the past. Also there are some OEM steel gaskets which do wick coolant through them on the deck surface for cooling. Those you either install dry or use very limited sealant in order to not plug the tiny coolant passages. Those are long gone from production other than the stray set you see on ebay. I bought a set of those recently for my build. But with all the aftermarket steel gaskets use the copper spray. Most of the aftermarket gaskets are a .012-.015 thickness. The OEM set I found are .023.
