That was cool Dave!

What you may not know is that it probably costs more to operate that jet then the cars were worth.

Note to self: do not taxi the Skyhawk behind the 747. The 747 only used 2 of the 4 engines for that demo.

I was in Grenada and things were winding down, so they let the press in for a photo op. They wanted pics of a group walking in a C-141 back though the tailgate, to show on TV when the conflict was over. So we got in a couple lines and walked in - wasn't dramatic enough.

They had us stand behind the jet and they fired the engines up. They fine tuned it for that "perfect shot". At one point I must have been leaning over at 45 deg. The rocks and heat were something else. It blew this one light guy over and he went sliding across the pavement. They finally got it right and we dragged ourselves on the plane. It was too hot to breath and when they shut down the engines, the tropical heat felt cool.

Thanks for the clip... All these years I've wondered how bad that could have been.

I can't believe they would waste a perfectly good Citroen for that demonstration .

Now, what I was wondering is, what would happen if that 747 were put on a conveyor belt. Would the car still take off?

Merry Christmas everyone.
