i took the stickers off my old 1995 f350 when i bought it and took the stickers off my 2004 when i bought it, it doesn't need to advertise thats its a 4x4, any idiot can tell, and it makes it look cheap! and i didn't even drive off the lot until i took the dealers name off of there along with thier license plate brackets.
I took mine off after 1yr...didn't have any shadow...just some wax buildup on the edges that was easily removed. I ended up replacing them with a custom sticker.
Every time that I bought a new truck the dealer wanted to put his name on it on the tailgate. Since I was ordering the truck and obviously Ford wasn't going to put their name on it (dealer), they had no choice but to agree not to install the badge. I told them if they want'd to pay for the advertising they could. They always relent, but I think the badges look good. I want people to know that I have a 350 not a 250 and that diesel gets them looking over every time.
Bought mine used (about 18k on it) and I took them off with no ill effect. I do have a sticker where the dealer sticker was - says, "Friends don't let friends get a mullet"
i maybe a little understand the "4x4" sticker stuff, not really though, but what is up with this fx4??? i mean, somebody thinks its worth while to put a big special sticker on the truck just because it has skidplates and some white painted oem shocks? give me a break!!! i got skid plates and rancho shocks on mine, should i go out and buy the fx4 sticker also?
Would removing an "FX4" sticker from a 2004 F-250 (bought 11/03) leave a "shadow"? Truck is garaged at times but does spend at least 5 days a week outdoors during daylight hours (South Texas heat & sun). Any thoughts greatly appreciated!
Give it a try.. The decals aren't horribly expensive... around 35.00+
Being that it's white, they seem to tend to not show up as bad if at all.. 'All depends' on how much overall exposure to the elements.. You may also even see a light 'foot print' where the decal was.. It may be polished/leveled off.. You can always remove 'one' side and put it in direct sunlight to see if anything shows up.. If so, and not to your liking, replace the decal over the top of the original area if it's too pronounced...
I took my Fx4 stickers off today. I have had the truck since March and like others removed the dealer tags and license plate brackets off immediately. I thought about removing the Fx4 stickers for a while before finally pulling the trigger. Only my opinion but I think the truck looks a whole lot sharper without them. It's the true blue metallic and then only way I could tell they were there is because the rest of the truck was dirty. I washed the truck and other than the original wax job still beading water up where the stickers were I could see no difference. Once dry I could not tell where they were and again she looks great. I think next I might go to that website Envirocon mentioned earlier in the thread where you can replace the badges with whatever you want it to say. I have seen an F250 with "Tonka" badges instead of Ford - kids dream come true! Anybody have any other suggestions?
