Heater blower resistor

Hey,
Been looking all over for a blower resistor for my 69. Other than a boneyard, does anybody know where I can get a new one?

Thanks

National Parts Depot lists a resistor for a 68-72 ford for 19.95. However, the description does say "limited NOS availability".

checked for you. napa does not, kragen does not nor does autozone. also all the ones i have seen at boneyards don't work. most are broken or rusted. it may be a big hunt. do you have a picture of it? i wonder if one from a 73-79 will work?

hey guys,

I've managed to make it work temporarily. Its a 3 prong, the mounting disentegrated. Already went to NAPA and Kragen, before I posted, to no avail. Even called the dealer & they only can go back to '80. I too thought it'd work up to '79. Thanks anyway, I'll figure something out. At least I've got it to work for now, it'll buy me some time. I'll look at National in the next day or two.

just make sure the resistor is getting air flow or else you will start a fire.

The resistor is what allows you to run the blower motor at varying speeds by varying the voltage to the motor. Usually, if the blower motor will run on high speed, but not at any other speed, the resistor is bad. On high speed, the resistor is bypassed and applies 12 volts to the motor.
