A friend of mine has a f350 with the 7.3 in it and about a month ago it started up and then blew white smoke and died. He got it started again and got it home. After that he fired it up again and let it warm up and died again and wouldnt start! He tested the fuel pressure and he said it was 130 psi's. To me that sounds high but am wondering if theres something else wrong. Any help to this situation would be helpful!
He stated that he already did that. I been lookin thru other posts and am wondering what CPS is? HE's tried just about everything except changing the fuel pump and injectors! If anyone can just tell me what the CPS is we may get this resloved!! THanks

Ok he put in a new CPS and its still doing it. This is exactly what happened. He started it up in the morning and drove it to work. After sitting in the cold weather for about 5 hours he went to lunch and it started fine. 1/4 mile down the road it started sputtering out and blew a white/grey smoke then died. It wouldnt start again till it warmed up. Thats when he tested the fuel pressure and it read 130 psi's. Any help would be appericated!
i am thinking a restrict/plugged/ frozen fuel return line. that would explain high pressure and spitting and sputtering then dead. either there is ice in there or something else. may be right at the regulator on the fuel bowl too.
diesel kleen(white bottle) is all i can recommend.. supposidly there is a 911 diesel kleen also... have not seen it myself. pour some right in the fuel bowl and tanks.
