ok stayed up last night intil 2am pulling injectors and replace o rings and drove it this morning with 95% less smoke i figure it would take a few miles to burn out all the oil or diesel thats in the exhaust. trucks running way better intil it took a turn for the worse, decided to plug in the programmer and put it back to stock and drove wow, it was slow, drove to my local walgreen to buy gloves pulled in the lot and pluged in the programmer and put it to the performance seting and went in the srore and came out and tried to start it. it took 5 sec to start and die start and die wouldn't stay running so i thought give it a little gas and hold the idle and as soon as i touch the pedal and let go the truck went to full thortle and held at 3500 rpms and wounldn't come down so i turned the truck off and tried it again toch the pedal straight to red line. i changed the tps back to my old one same thing can anyone help ????
The PCM is the computer that runs everything (Powertrain Control Module). Try using the programmer to pull the codes and clear the memory.
It does take several miles to clear the cylinders and get all the air purged from the fuel and oil systems, but I've never heard of a runaway PSD from an injector change.
i drove the truck all day and tryed the stock setting it was slow so i went back the the other setting and that when it to a crap and started this problem is it comin for the pcm to go out. the truck does have 200k on it
go take it for a hard fwy run... make sure your oil is topped off after the change... if you can even get her to start/run...
you may need to pull the vc's again.. you could also have an injector oring that got torn dumping all your oil...
as far as the pcm.. its the trucks computer...you push the go pedal and the signal goes to the pcm then everything else.
i don't think its air because i drove it for 50 miles and then messed with the programmer and then its when all this started truck will not stay running and if the go pedal is touch it goes to red line and stays there intil i turn the key off
Ok.....What can the programmer do now? Can it still communicate with the truck? Are you able to use it to scan for trouble codes and or clear the computer memory??
the programmer goes in and does its thing and soon as its done it still has the same problem, i check for codes with the programmer and nothing comes up for codes
i'm thinking you got a bad pcm...you got any buddies with a 94.5-97 psd you can borrow there pcm... either manual or auto should work just to get it started and see if it will run...or your throttle pedal is messed up X2 (i doubt it though)... i would try a different pcm before i laid down the cash....you can buy one from jody tipton or some parts stores...maybe ebay or someother place... i believe its a spendy thing from ford..
if you dont know someone wave a fellow obs owner down and ask them. or tell me where you live and i can give you the help network for that state.

my dad and i changed out 1 of his hpo rail end plugs.... truck took a long time to start after that...once running we drove it..still had hard starts for a day or so....fwiw
