Merry Christmas, everyone! May you always experience the same feeling you get when those last rear sparkplugs are installed on your 3.0 & 4.0 V6's, and your Aerostar starts and runs much better! "SILENT NIGHT" = Your Aerostar, parked for the night, with no problems! Ed
PS At midnight, on January 1, 2006, remember to wish a Happy New Year to your A4LD transmission on your Aerostar. Simply lay on your stomach, reach in, and tap the transmission pan. (let cool at least one hour after driving) This will let your A4LD know, that you have not forgotten her, and the A4LD will reward you with 2006 full of clean, crisp, smooth shifts! /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas, Happy Honnika, С Новым годом, Feliz Año Nuevo, Eid Al Adha
to all Aero owners around the world, especially Pablo in Ukraine, Tom in the Swiss Alps and Dan in Spain.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to everyone from the land of cheese and (computer)mice! Thanks for all the help and great advise I received in this forum.
I took the Aerostar out on a ski trip yesterday - today she looks like %$§&@ from all the salt. Went uphill on a steep snowy road like a dream, didn't have to use the chains. The parking lot attendant got all excited about her because he is about to buy a 1994 4.0 AWD. Asked me a lot of questions about reliability etc.
I noticed a few days ago that the right side of the van seems to hang low. Measured it and yep, 3cm low. Looks like the front spring on the passenger side is sagging. So this is my next project. Is there anything special I should consider when buying springs or can I take any stock ones offered?
Tomucen! Buy rear springs of Mercedes 200 (w123) and use it as front, do not forget to buy insolators (they are very cheap). Be careful with springs, it may extend with force!
I recomend you to check a stabilaser bar, when it will be removed. It may be deformed because of old springs.
With springs of mercedes handling will be improoved.

Happy new year again!
Hey Pablo,
no kidding, W123 rear springs fit front Aerostar ones? Wagon or sedan springs? (wagons had very often auto-levelling, springs might be different) And what do you mean by insolators?
Incidently, before I bought the Aerostar, our family car was a W123 240TD. Great old iron with a great indestructable engine.
No kidding! I used sedan springs. Insolators are on lower sides of springs, rubber made, to decrease noise. It's possible to use old, if there are no holes in this insolators. List of parts brands used in my van is very long. I use russian parts of suspention, because price is low and quality is good, but Mercedes springs gives aero better handling.
