first accident
Coming home from a party. I was backing out of the drive way ( BIG hill for a driving way ). Had alot of ice still on the drive way, it was thick. I was driving my dads 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee... hit the ice coming down, went side ways and took out that home owners mall box. and my rear fender... its has to be atleast $3000 of damage...i'm only 16...had my licenses for only 3 months. already wreck my dads new jeep....i wish i had my truck....it would have just put a dent in my fender...no i had to drive my dads plastic jeep and take out the whole fender....
It sucks but can be fixed, and hey, you wrecked a jeep, not your truck
Hey, life's lessons are often abrupt, but we all learn from them, or at least we should, and as long as no one is hurt in the process, it is not really good, but not all bad either. Sounds like it was not anything truly reckless on your part from your account, but look at what you can take away from all this:
Ice is slippery, and not always seen, and can cause major loss of control. Maybe this event will come to mind on some cold, dark road in the future and actually help save your car or your life or another's.
Even minor accidents can be expensive, a lesson that when learned will probably stick with you for life and help form better driving skills.
Even minor accidents can be very inconvenient in terms of loss of car use and hassle in getting it fixed. Another good lesson.
Even Minor accidents can be embarrassing. Taking out both your dad’s car and your friends mailbox in a driveway had to be embarrassing, but if a lesson learned, another step on the road to becoming a careful, safe driver.
I wrecked the side of my dad's 1954 Crown Vic in our driveway while backing it up when I was 13. I felt like crawling in a hole at the time. However, to this day, many many years later, that event comes to mind almost every time I back up in a tight space and I therefore use common sense and extra caution.
I learned my lesson.

Thanks to all of you. my dad is going to call the home owner. he thinks his home owners will cover it... I am glad nobody was hurt. i had a girl in the car. ( a pretty good looking out at that lol ) she was pretty freaked but not hurt. My dad took it really well. I mean...i wrecked his baby lol. i almost wish it was my truck. its all steal. wouldn't have done much, plus is alot higher then a jeep. So it looks like they will have to replace the whole rear bumper. i'll have to call the girl to make sure shes alright, and explain to her parents if shes not alowed to get in a car with me again. lol
Thanks again.
I found that to be the best learning experince for me, I'd hate to see what I would be doing in a vehical if I didn't learn the concequences early.
