1998 Ranger No Headlights

I've got a problem with my headlights. when I turn them on the parking lights come on but no headlights. at first if I flashed the brights they would come on and stay on. now If I flash the lights they come on but do not stay on. I thought maybe the headlight switch so I changed it not the problem. anyone ever heard of the turn signal dimmer switch causing this problem.

I would suspect the multifunction switch, a common problem area.

when you say the multifunction switch are you talking about the dimmer turn signal hazard, in the steering colum.

I had a problem with my headlights being dim and sometimes not working at all. Check the bulb plugs. Mine melted bc I had bulbs that ran too high a wattage...

The multifunction switch is the blinker switch, window washer, and brights. Expensive part, ~$170 if I remember correctly.

His work fine on bright, so it doesn't seem like a bulb issue.

Ken you were right it was the multi function switch. picked one up at the dealer only 68 bucks. not bad considering all it controls. thanks for the help,
