My '55 panel says "Panemal". Ideally they would read "Panelmal", but here in Virginia you can't get that many letters on plates.
Am converting to antique tags, and recently found way that I can get personalized antique tags also.
The Miata says G1&Gtoo! our names on the miata forum.
The Celica says BLU BERY it's named after it's color
The Panel will say 1SLK56
We like buying personalized plates, you only pay extra for them when you get them, there's no additional charge to renew, and the money goes for highway beautification. Anyone who has driven in NC can appreciate the miles of flowers all along the interstates.
I got "54 F100" on my PA plates. I was surprised it was available as I had some 2nd and 3rd choices ready. PA does not issue new plates every year, they just issue little registraion stickers for the corner of your plate to show that you paid your fee. The year I got my new plates PA went with a new design and issued new plates so I put my old plate on the front, it looks pretty cool, but I am baffled by how many guys say, "Hey cool truck, what year is it?" even as the plates are in clear view.
By the way I bought old style red and amber reflector bolts to fasten the plates.
On My 55 I have the original plates from when My Dad bought it in 1969. But I would love to have a plate that said "4U2NVME" or "HRLYHLR" But like everything else money is the key and I guess I dont have that key. LOL, So I think I will stick with black and yellow plates from 69.
my 78 bronco(daily driver again) has gulf war plates, I just got this one done after 2 years of labor. My big orange ford with 7 inches of lift, etc...has 3VOM (sez move in the mirror), and the 48 f1 will say so far...48 FTE
Don't have them for my truck yet, still in storage from when I tore it apart, but I have plates for my Contour SVT that say "TUXBABY", b/c that thing is my baby since the truck is torn down, but they are gettin put on my truck if I can't get "50 4ed" for it... Although I don't think anybody will get that plate, I live around a bunch of Iowa fans.....go ISU Cyclones.
I wanted to get personnalized plates, but I didn't....not really anyway. I went down to the DMV to just get standard plates. The lady looks through the stack and pulls out, V1953. Well, the V stands for whatever you want...heck if I know, but I thought it was cool that the year of my truck is on my plates. The lady at the DMV said there was a guy down there the day before I got there, and he got "X"1952 for his '52 car. Kind of funny how things work out.
