Does anyone on here have or know anything about Bluetooth cell phones? I was looking into ordering a Bluetooth compatible phone from Cingular, but I had some questions about it first.
The phone I am looking to buy is a flip-phone. Are you able to answer and use the Bluetooth headset without opening the phone?
Also is there anywhere that I can buy just a phone. I already have a contract with Cingular, and I don't really want to renew it with them. The only way they will let me upgrade my phone for the lower price is to sign a new contract.
Is there any place that sells phones without have to sign/renew a contract with them?

All the phones from Amazon have something like (when purchased with new service plan) after it.
I don't want a new contract or plan, I just want a new phone. I know I can try Ebay, but I was wondering if there were any other places I could look also.
Patatoe1, I hope you don't mind me tagging on to your thread, but I was wondering if anyone has a bluetooth phone that they use in conjunction with a bluetooth palm? I have both but I seem to be unable to use the palm phone listing to use as my phone book on my phone if that makes sense.
I have a Nokia phone in which I have several different types of head pieces. One is a Jabra bluetooth. While it works great, it goes into a battery savings cycle and you have to reboot the thing to get it going again. I don't particularly like it. The one I use the most is a corded headset with a band that runs across the top of the head. Like a headset. The volume is great for us ol' folks and is also very comfy to use. I don't find the cord to be a pain as you might think. I would suggest a flip phone. The Nokia I have has a round dial pad and is exposed. A $600.00 phone, so they tell me, and all you have to do is have something touch your pocket and now you are calling an unknown person. Not good and a major pain as sometimes I leave it in the truck and if I put it into the door pocket, it will call somebody. I am now carrying for test, a Motorola i730. It is a flip phone and I really, really like it. The speaker goes loud enough you don't have to have a headset and still be hands free while driving down the hiway. I think this is the phone the company will be using.
I'm almost wishing I got the Bluetooth Motorola. But when I got a corded headset for two bucks at a dollar store, I'm not gonna complain too much. Two bucks compared to $150, I think I got the better deal. A comparable headset is still at least $30, and it's lighter than most $50 headsets. And the thing works like a million bucks. It's on it's second phone now. Got it for my old Samsung, now I use it on my Motorola.
Didn't mean to get that far away from your question, but don't rule out a corded headset for the "cool" factor. I've heard some bluetooth headsets might even be hazardous to your health. (Probably not, but that's just what I've heard.)
