I have a 93 Ford F350 Crew Dually 7.3 Diesel should I replace the glow plugs with Ford originals. I have heard to use the original equipment because it works the best on these motors. I have gone to autozone and they have glow plugs Motorcraft ZD9. Are there any other Glow plugs that are better?
I never tried them. Never even saw them. They are almost the same price as motorcraft. Are you able to compare the power and cycle times and frequency of cycles on the Humvee and our IDIs. They might be different causing a different result. Also IMO I don't rely on the government to do anything intelligent. Motorcraft work great and they are easy to get.
Anti-seize is something you put on the threads to make them easier to get out. A parts store or Pep Boys etc. will have it. The torque on the gps is very low. I think only 12, but you better check it. It is early and my brain has not turned on yet.

There is some good info on changing gps.
Thanks Trike, learning more as I go I didn't realize Diesel's were as complex as they seem...In the military it seemed all we did was keep the air filters clean and fuel them up.
flamenco5555, I saw the WAP glow plugs on eBay and I asked about them on this site. Beru invented glow plugs, (meaning: before Beru made glow plugs there was Never such a thing as glow plugs) and they are good as far as I can find out, best of all the known brand of glow plugs. That does not mean that someone else can not make a better one. As much as I have read on this site and other sites, Glow plugs are a big deal. You need them for cold starts and they are always burning up or wearing out. The lesser glow plugs swell and then quit working and then the tips break off into your engine. It would seem someone would come up with a better design or idea on how to make them. Maybe the WAP glow plugs are the better idea. MAYBE.
They claim to be the only Glow Plug made in the U.S. They claim they put them in Military Vehicals, that need to start any any weather. It is possible that they make a better glow plug, but until people have used them and commented on them we will not know for sure.
Because Ford uses Motorcraft/Beru from the factory does not make them the best. It is because the people that have used other makes of glow plugs and had problems with them and then used Beru and then passed on the good word about them is the reason Beru has such a good name. People will change shocks, wheels, air cleaners, tires, oil filters, alter air flow, change computer settings, and exhaust from factory specs, but don't even think that a different glow plug MAY could be better. Odd isn't it..
flamenco5555: you bought a set of these glow plugs What do you think about them?? Is there any difference? Does your truck start faster when it is cold?
Let me know I might buy a set if they are better than Beru.
