Did a search but dont find my particular problem. 98 explorer eddie bauer. The parking lights won't turn off today. We just had the blend door issue fixed so they had our whole dash apart. So far I can't pull a fuse to make them stop. Im afraid electrical problems are my hated part of vehicle repair. Wife just drove to town today and they were on when she got to the grocery store. The switch on the mirror was on but the main switch was off. It was during the day. Any suggestions?
Im heading out to start pulling fuses to try and narrow it down a bit. Its ONLY the parking lights nothing else. Oh and also everything works fine when I actually turn the lights on. Blinkers, brake lights high beams etc.
Found it! I went out to pop the hood so I could start tracking things down. When i popped the hood the dinging stopped for a sec. I pushed on the panelling right above the hood release and it quit again. Aha! I climbed under the dash and pushed everything together better until the dinging quit. Whew! That's great news for an electrical dummy like myself.

That would have been tough to find for an experienced technician. But I think you apporached it logically, knowing what they had just worked on, and keeping your eyes and ears open. Glad you fixed it.
