I have an older service body I am installing on my 03 f-350.
It has a connector from the bed and tail lights.
I'm just not sure on how to go about wiring from this new connector to my service body wiring.
Do I need to ring out each wire? Any ideas would be appreicated.
If you are looking at a 4 pin or 7 pin connector made for trailer hook-up, then:
Darkgreen is right turn/stop
Yellow is left turn/stop
Brown/white is the running lamps or tail lamps
black/lightgreen is the reverse lamps
orange is a 12 volt battery charge wire
If you are looking at the wiring for the truck's lights then:
orange/lightblue is right turn/stop
lightgreen/orange is left turn/stop
brown is the running or tail lamps
reverse lights are black/pink
If you are unsure about the wiring or the condition of the lighting in the old bed, I would get a small battery charger, hook the - to the metal of the bed, and start testing the wires from the bed with the + cable from the battery charger. If there is a problem, the battery charger has a circuit breaker in it that will self reset. That's better than blowing fuses in the truck that are hard to find.

really excellent , franklin, something I did once was to take old lites out of the bed, drill the backs so the newer lite sockets would go in and just ran the newer harness, worked pretty good and I was totally impressed with my self, cause Im not usually that smart, respectfully , bob
