Last month $84 and will probably stay the same for the next 3 months or so before it goes back down. Ah, living in a warm climate does have its advantages.

Two wood stove is a bit of work but it keeps the furnace from kicking on all the time. It is a below average cold December.
Keep Warm

ask your gas company about a pre-buy based on your past usage. it might be too late this yr but think about it for subsequent purchases

I like using my insert and in fact I'm burning now. Kinda nice not having to depend on someone else for my heat (fuel) no matter what the price .

Take a close look at it. If it is estimated, tell them to get their tails out there and read it. They used to send me estimated bills, until I called and said everytime I get one, I will pay MY verision of an estimated payment. I told them my estimate was always going to be $2.49. I no longer get estimated bills from Nicor.

looks like they "estimate" just about every other month, and this month, sure enough, "scheduled" I bet they hired extra help just to go out and read everyones meter during the winter......grumble grumble.

Thanks for the tip however

We dont have a gas bill here, except for chainsaw gas. We got an outdoor taylor wood stove, free heat and hot water on demand but my father and me spend all our time cutting wood.
