I'll keep my nice forced hot air wood furnace.
Folks laugh about the truckloads of wood in the spring.
Then, as soon as the weather changes, they're all asking if they can come over.
Can't tell you the number of folks that have stopped by the house to see if we were willing to sell "a few cord"... Nope. Got about 5 years heat out back, and I don't want to get any lower than that. Have another couple loads coming in the spring. Won't have to do wood for a few years.
I feel sorry for the folks that ran out and sank money in pellet stoves, just to turn around right now and be unable to buy any quantity of pellets... Could have seen that one coming.
Our energy bill usually falls 200-300 in the winter. Down here 20 above zero is stinking cold. Its not bad during the winter, its just the 100deg with 100% humidity in the summer. The A/C runs almost all the time. For heat in the winter we sut use a fireplace that has a tube wich sits above the fire that air is blown through. this is enough to heat the entire house.
