I have picked up several FE heads and I was hoping someone could ID them. What motor they might have been installed. Are they special or any good? I have the part numbers and dates.
The C6AE heads are all from 1966-68 on 352,390,410,428 w/o AIR
The C6AE-d were for the same engines w/ AIR. However I can't find the Y behind any of the numbers. Are you sure it's not a K? Not that that would change the application.
The C7AE-a is for the same as above but started in 67.
The C1AE would be for a 61-63 352 and 390.
The C6AE-Y heads were a 66 head with 67.1-70.1 cc chambers and std size valves. The SPEC I'm not exactly sure the meaning but I've seen it on both heads and blocks as part of the casting number. These are medium riser heads withe the smaller "velocity" ports.
C7AE-A are the same size chambers (67.1-70.1) and valves (2.02-1.55) as the C6-Y's. These are 66-68 390 medium riser heads with thermactor tubes. 6J28 is the date code of 66/Sept/28th.
C1AE-A heads are 61-63 352/390 low riser heads with 71-74 cc chambers and the std size valves. 2L19 is the date code of 62/Nov/19th.
The C6-Y heads with the SPEC are kind of an odd head. I'll see if I can dig up some info on them application wise. I don't have much info on them off the top of my head but I'll check my books and see what they have.
