While the mileage is fantastic I really don't think it would sell well here. 0-60 in 10.something seconds.

How would this be different than following behind some of the elderly? Some of them drive cars that can go from 0-60 in 6sec, but take 30sec to reach 45mph. I wouldnt care. I could drive to work for almost 1.5 weeks per tank. That's awesome considering I drive 110miles round trip.

If you run on the interstate a lot, 0-60 times don't make that big a difference. I'd take a Focus diesel in a heartbeat for those road trips.

It's ashame the EPA doesn't treat Gas and Diesel engines separately like they do in Europe -- that's why we probably won't see that thing over here. I thought Ford was tossing the idea around of bringing it over, but may have trouble with emmisions. Screw hybrids -- diesels are where it is at.

Looks nice, but I have issues with small cars. Something about the car being the same size as a coffin, which is convienent because if I do get in an accident with one, they can just leave my body in the car and bury the whole deal.

I still say there is no reason why my truck can't get 20-25 mpg with the technology that is out there other than nobody with the capabilities wants to make it happen.

The one thing I was wondering, does Europe go by Km instead of miles? To me, part of that site was metric. Maybe I misread it.

The whole site was metric, it was a UK site (hence the .co.uk). I am willing to bet it does get decent mileage, and is plenty peppy. After all VW sells a LOT of TDI golfs and jettas over here.

If it were metric wouldn't the ratings be kpg instead of mpg?

it said it got that much MPG (Miles Per Gallon), so that measurement isnt metric.

EDIT... ^he got it...

Re EDIT it'd be KPL kilmeters per Liter

Actually I think it's kilometers per liter, in metric.

Yeah but don't the Poms use Imperial gallons? 1 imperial = 1.2 US gallon, so multiply their mileage figure by 0.832, huh?

In metric, it's liters per 100km.

I'll plead ignorance to Europe. Mexico uses kilometers and liters, although most anyone within a few hours of the border knows miles and gallons too.

Maybe it's meters per gallon(imperial) . If that's the case I don't want one.
