66 Engine swap
I found a 67 428 engine and would like to install it in my Dad's 66 F250. It has a 352 in it now. It should bolt in just fine but the 428 was mated to a auto and the truck is a standard trany. Can I just remove the flywheel, clutch and stuff and bolt it to the back of the 428 with no problems??

Thanks, I was hoping it was the case. I have installed smallblocks before but this is my first big block. There is conflicting info about balancing on the FE's and I was afraid it was going to be a problem. Tony

The 428 crank is balanced externally with the flexplate or flywheel, hence the need to use the current tranny or or find a new flywheel. To be honnest with you, that motor will probably be choked out using the old truck stick...
