On my '72 F-100.... My seering wheel horn ring is in bad shape. It looks to me that it is the same wheel that the '73 through '79 uses. Can anyone tell me for sure? I want to replace the whole steering wheel with the right one. Thanks.........
bobb, Take it off and save it. Install a nice 13 inch Grant "woody" for now. Later when you find an original steering wheel you can repair and refinish it. There was a Guy at the Pigeon Forge show that refinished steering wheels. He was from California and I have lost his address. His display showed some really quality work. Not to expensive either. Have patience.

Bob The 73-79 doesn't use a horn ring, those wheels have a soft pad on the center scetion. I didn't know your model truck had a ring. :-X23

John's right, '70 was the last year of the three-spoke wheels with the horn ring or button in the middle. The '71 and later used the two-spoke with the horn button in the padded spoke cover.
In 71 the trucks started using the same two spoke steering wheel that most of the cars had. A 71-77 has the same steering wheel the 78&79 is similar but a little different. Yours is 17 inches and 78&79 is 15 inches and is shaped slightly different
OK Barry you had the answer I was looking for. I knew the '73 thru '79 were the same but I wasn't sure if the '71 and '72 were the same also. When I said the horn ring I actually ment the rubber in the center. Thanks.
