I have a 1994 ford f350 dually with a 460 auto, I have a mason dump, I was replacing the rear marker lights, and some of the pigtails. They are the basic 2" lights with the two prong connections. At first the lights were working, then they just stopped, including the tail lights. The headlights and parking light work, but all the rear light are out. I checked all the fuses and they are all good. The brakelights work only now when the pedal is applied, same with the reverse lights any help/suggestions?
What are the wires colors for the running lights you are hooking up? The reason I ask is the truck uses a brown wire for all the running lights for the whole truck, front to rear. This brown wire comes from the headlight switch.
But, if you happen to be using an auxilary or trailer factory wiring for the truck body, then you may have an extra relay, and some extra fuses in a box under the hood. And the wiring will be a different color. A lot of the heavy trucks had this extra wiring and relay, since they knew the owners would be adding extra lighting.
On an older diagram I have, they show the other running light wire as being white/red. They also show this circuit being fed from the area over by the starter solenoid(relay). Over there, you should have a bunch of yellow wires and fusible links. One of these fusible links fed the running lights relay power. Since you have a later truck, I though you possibly had the underhood fuse box instead of the fusible link.
