steering noise

I have a 05 250 c/c 4x4 psd, and im hearing this noise when the truck is at slow speeds when i turn the steering wheel. The noise almost sound's like something is binding. I also feel it in the steering wheel itself when i just first move the wheel to the left or right. Anyone have any ideas what this might be, or has anyone had the same problems. Any replies would helpful.

Have you checked your fluid level and belt condition?

Checked fliud level is fine. The belt i didn't check, only reason being the truck only has 5900 miles on it

Is there water in the fluid? That can generate noise.

Im not sure if there is water or moisture in the fluid. How could you tell if there is?

The noise sounds like its coming from inside the cab, almost like a low rubbing noise
