3-2 hard shift
So i took in my 98 xlt to the dealer and paid the lovely 89.99 to get my tranny diagnosed.. they said it was not my tranny but my throttle body was NASTY. So i let them fix it and do some other maint.. anyways on my way home.. sure enough 3-2 hard shift..still there. so pissed off about spending 472.99 this close to x-mas i just parked it til this AM. On my way to work this AM.. i was listening for the noise.. heard nothing. Any ideas on why i could hear it the day it was fixed.. and not today??

cold weather
I thought maybe it was the cold weather.. it was 26 degrees this AM. but friday is was 38 .. i wonder if that would make a difference.. i did drive 20 miles to work so it should have had time to worm up and make the noise.. i am so confussed

I had a similar problem like this also. But I was having it both ways, shifting from 2-3, 3-4, & then on the down shift 4-3, 3-2. Hard shift.
Took my explorer in and they had to remove Valve Body & replace EPC Solenoid. Cured the problem right away.
