No Headlights

I'm so close to getting my '70 back on the road, today I put the grille & headlights back in, plugged everything in, no headlights!
All the other lights come on,parking, tail, side marker, even the dash lights, I've never had this problem before, could it be the headlight switch itself, may be the dimmer switch? the only thing I can remember is that when the headlight switch is going bad the headlights will flash on & off intermidntly.
Any ideas would be appreciated, Rick

If you have a voltmeter ---check the dimmer switch to see if you are getting any voltage there---a 12vdc test light will work just as well--with your headlight switch ON----start at the receptacle for your headlights and work your way back to the switch with a test meter until you encounter voltage---a process of elimination---goodluck , fd--also check all fuses---fd

Well, I did the checking that FD suggested, and found the relay bad.
The relay (&I'm not too familiar with relays)was getting power in, but not out, it has what I call circuit breakers 1 on each side, and these ignition point looking things that would click back & forth as I switched from high beams to low, and some type of thing that was wound with very fine wire just behind them.
Any way I tried putting 30 amp fuses in where the circuit breakers were, as that was all I had, and nothing, so, I took the wires off of the outlet side of the relay & hooked them up to the posts on the inlet side just until tomorrow when I can get a new relay.
Any ideas on what would cause this relay to go bad with the truck sitting around?? Thanks!! Rick

I'd still look at the dimmer switch. They're cheap
and it could probably stand to be replaced anyway.
