My truck is Frickin Frankenstein!
Hey y'all. Ok, my truck is so mixed and matched it's not even funny. Apparently it's a '77 highboy frame. It has a 78 F-100 Cab on it, 351 C, NP435, Dana 21 transfer case, 9" rear end, and a Dana 44 Front. How would I be able to tell if the frame is a "high boy". I know they have weird lookin lift blocks between the rear leafspring and the axle housing. Are there any more tell tale signs? I'm just wondering exactly what I have, any input or ideas would be great.

Somebody sold you a jackass dressed up like a registered quarter horse--I really don't think you have a Hiboy frame---Ford quit production of the hiboy in mid 77---the xfer case on all hiboy's is situated probably 3 feet behind the tranny , on the left side of the truck---You might have a 77 f250 frame which had the xfer case mated to the tranny----which would have been produced during the second half of the 77 model year---the 351c was never put in any f250's as far as i know---or any ford pickups for that matter---The hiboy model of 4x4's was probably the two or three highest gvw ratings--during their production run from 67 thru 771\2---which means that the axle(s) used was the d60 rear and the hd44 or regular 44 on the front---I am not an expert and my facts are ALL subject to correction which I welcome ---fd
