2003 F150 Starting Problem

Hi

First time user looking for help! Wnet out to start 2003 F150, 5.4L 2WD, 72k, and put key in and turned and just a quick click then nothing. Then clicking and other like noises started with key off, put on brake and they stop. take foot off brake and they start again. Shifted gear to R and rolled and stopped and tried again, nothing but the clicking noise. Nothing worked. Then for a short time, the door locks would work, then nothing, more clicking until brake is applied.

Any ideas before I call the Ford shop to haul it in?

Turn the headlights on, then try to start the engine. I'll bet that they dim almost to darkness. If so, battery time.

Thanks Paul...I thought maybe the battery was the issue and went out to check the posts, had some corrision on the positive end and cleaned it off, tried and everything flickers, on and off, still no turnover.

When my wife gets home, I'm going to try to jump it with her car and see if it starts and if so, then I am sure it is the battery. If not, I'll call the local garage guy and have them tow it in and hook it up and see what they can figure out.
