Is there anyway to track a truck on order??? I'm really starting to go nuts and its only been ONE week since I ordered my truck!
This is even hard to type! But, Ive got FIVE weeks or so left to wait!!!!!!!
The last truck I special ordered (different manufacturer) the dealer was able to track once it was given a vin number (about week 2.5).
I've already ordered a billet grill and Lund window visors. Its also killing me that nobody makes a cold air intake for an '05 or '06 yet!!! Dont know how you guys that have had your trucks for a year now have fought of the BURNING need to play with (modify) them!
Much as I like the header idea... $800 is PRETTY spendy!!! Anybody tried the Thorley tri-y's? There steel, but could be ceramic coated for about $150 and still be under $800. Tri-y's by design will outperform shorties thoughout the power band (at least have always been known to with every other application).
This waiting stuff is some kind of evil torture!!!
The dealership where I ordered my '00 was able to track it in their system. They could've just been feeding me a load of crap though since it took me about 10 months to get my truck (from order date to delivery date) and I was on them non-stop the whole time about it.
I feel your pain, I waited for 8 weeks to get mine, after about 2-3 weeks my salesman gave me a more realistic ETA. None the less, it will be well worth the wait, for now just start saving money for upgrades and mods, it will be hard to save as much when you get that monthly bill coming in.
10 MONTHS! Think I would have told any dealer to get bent a third into that! The 8-10 weeks you guys are saying sounds more realistic though the dealer told me 5-6. The plant is shut down a full week for Christmas, so thats 1 week to add to the wait. The good news is they use that week for maintenance they have put off throughout the rest of the year, and are using better tooling come January. Well, the second week of January. The first week is the worst time of the year due to there finding all the "Oops, we didnt think of that when we were working on it!" I know the plant guys pretty well. Work with them pretty often.
Still doesnt make the time go any easier!!! IT STINGS, IT BURNS!!!
big cheese ! 1 check your pm's. 2 mine came in about 7 weeks. i got my vin in 2 weeks a build date in 3 . the last 12 days when it's on the rail car they can't trace yet as they use a different tracing soft ware then gm or dcx that can tell them were the rail is in route
When you get your Vin, the date they give you is the build week, not the exact date.
To find your Baby's actual Birthday you have to do an OASIS report with your VIN and they will tell you the exact build date
Mine was ordered Dec 3/04 built on Jan. 11/ 05 delivered to the dealer on Jan 27/05 and I picked it up on Jan 29/05.
Make sure you bring a list with all the options you ordered and also a list of things to check. You are so excited when your truck arrives it is hard to think straight.
My salesman was so worried when mine showed up with the manual tranfer case. He forgot I wanted that and you don't often see a loaded up truck with one so he was very happy when he saw I was pleased. Mine was flawless with every thing I ordered on it. Ford has really improved there ordering process because I ordered an 81, 95, and 88 and this 05 is the only one they got right.
Big Cheese Stick, I hope you new truck comes in on time, exactly as you ordered and meets your every expectation because man, that is a lovely experience and with a V10 SD, the love keeps growing. I washed mine today and the pride of ownership I feel for this truck is so much higher than any other vehicle I have ever owned. I wish you the same experience. Take care and keep marking those Xs on the calender.
