How about some good views

Hello all, let me first start out by saying I love this site...boy have I learned alot here. But.....this is also a pretty depressing site also. Now I dont want to start any fights, but does anyone have anything good to say about Ford. I sure do. I traded in my 2000 GMC K-3500 CC, DRW, 4X4 with the 6.5L DSL that had everything but the kitchen sink for a 2004 F-350 CC, DRW, 4X4 with the 6.0 that doesnt have cruise, tilt, pwr doors or windows and vinyl seats cuz I want a real truck. Well I've got 35,000 miles on it and just love it. Best truck I've owned and I've owned all brands. Wife drives a chevy truck and 16 yr old boy drives a dodge. Sure Ford has had a few problems, but anyone looking to buy a Ford and visits this site will surely look at something else. Just my own opinion. Love my ford truck and if I start getting problems, I will still love it.
V/R,
Jeff

So far so good, remember there are something like 15 million 6.0L out there and only about 20% are in ford trucks...most are industrial and military applications...unfortunately I can't remember where I read this, but it was a technical site...I love mine too (2004 F250 CC SB 4WD XLT) only minor issues so far (hope I don't jinx myself ).

Oh there are plenty of us happy owners out there. I just told my wife tonight while we were out Christmas shopping in my truck that this has been my favorite truck. I still get excited to hear it start. My butt still loves the seat, it is so dang comfy. The controls are simple and easy to use, like they should be in a truck. I wouldn't have it any other way.

i have a 2004 f-250, 6.0, 4x4, xlt and love it! my previous was a 1995 f-350 that i bought new and loved that truck also, sold the 95 because i transfered overseas but would have kept it if it had the diesel in it, didn't make that mistake again so i bought the 2004 used, only owned it for about 2 months, haven't done anything to it yet. but i don't care what goes wrong with this truck (hopefully nothing) and if it is one of the 6.0 lemons....then i will just wait till the 6.4 comes out and trade it in on that. sure, it has been RECORD warranty work(500 million$ i think) but hell, its the one time it has happened to ford, i am sure ford will not let this costly mistake happen again and the future trucks will be the most reliable ever built.

I think I speak for a lot of the 6.0 owners when I say I love my truck and would not trade it, even if I won the lottery tomorrow!, BUT I wish badly that it didn't have a tragic flaw. However you want to look at it, bad casting which leads to clogged radiators, bad tank caps, expanding head bolts, inability to line up the jacket holes, whatever, it all comes back to the poor truck gets a fever and that sucks!! Especially a design that makes you remove the damn body from the frame to efficiently replace head gaskets. Head gaskets!!!! Not the pistons or crank, but the friggin head gaskets!! And that fact frustrates us most, that and inconsistent dealerships. I assure you that you will never hear of this kind of problem from Lexus as far as response to problems, they would be all over it and they would bend over backwards to make it as easy as possible for their customers.

All that said, I love the power, torque, height, towing power, engine braking, heated seats, backup sensors that stop my wife from backing into things, quiet cab, fuel efficiency, ease of changing oil & filter, lack of electrical problems, and mostly looks. I think it is the best looking truck ever made!!

I am happy with my truck. So far (2+ years and 67,000km) and no issues other than recalls. Regular service when required

No complaints 04, 16k miles and no issues other than recalls. Regular service when required ; only problem is what I've spent to make it look good to me. Color matched door handles (red), Gibson dual exhaust, Centerline wheels, King Ranch emblems, & Chrome stock grille. Good Luck..If I won the lottery I'd buy a bgger car trailer..

'05 F250 CC Fx4, bought it back in March, just over 13k miles and no problems (knock on wood). I just put an SCMT tuner on it last week, love it! It may be early but no problems with that either. My MBRP turbo back exhaust gets installed Monday morning. Nothing else planned after that except putting a couple hundred thousand problem free (hopefully)miles or more on her.

In the morning when I walk out and look at what I am going to take to work, the KingRanch, or the 05 XJ8. 95% of the time I take the truck.

I'm on my second 6.0, which also happens to be my second diesel. Bought an early 03, had no problem other than one recall, I don't remember what it was even for. I traded it only to get a crew cab and because I got what I considered a great trade-in value. Had 18k on the 03, probably turn over 10k this weekend on my 05. No problems at all on the 05.

My only complaint is that since I bought the 03 (Dec of of 03), the price of diesel fuel has gone up, and is currently (still) priced higher than regular unleaded.

However, I have that effect on gas/diesel prices. Back in 01, I had a F-150 with the 5.4L engine. Was getting 10 mpg or so, empty. Gas went to 1.75 gallon one day and I went out and bought a Hyundai to drive back and forth to work. Next day gas went down 12 cents!!! The Hyundai went deer hunting last fall, and the deer won, so I now have only the truck, but I sure like it!!

And NO! I will NOT trade my diesel in for a gas engine just so diesel prices with flip again :-)

Yes i agree the 6.0 has gotten a bad rap because of the early model and techs not knowing what was going on with them. It seems that by 05 they all pretty much worked them selfs out. 11k and still cant remove that grin. My 05 is twice the truck my 01 was for towing. Can't say enough about the Tow Command system.
