I own a 2001 crew cab Ford F-250 Diesel and my gas mileage is about 13.8, is that right for the truck? When I got it it was around 14.2 is there any thing I can do? I have changed the fuel filer and oil and filter about 1000.0 miles ago.
im surprised no one has mentioned this. your truck won't get very far on gas. we here prefer to call it "fuel mileage"
i myself use powerservice in the white bottle, it says "diesel kleen". it is $11 something for a 64 oz. bottle, that treats 300 gallons. we have two 550 gallon fuel tanks at the shop, one for off-road and one for on-road, and i am going to get three jugs, and use them in the tanks. plus i have my own seperate jug, because i have to buy my own fuel at the station.
off topic- thinking of running biodiesel- is it good to still use an additive with biodiesel in the tank?
I've used both and couldn't tell the difference, Diesel Kleen is just more easy to find.
I wish I couldn't tell the difference! Unfortunately, using Diesel Kleen, I notice very little difference in smooth-running, and no difference in mileage or power.
The Stanidyne costs more. Again, I notice no difference in power or mileage compared to not using an additive - but my engine (please note: I can only tell you how it runs in mine!!) runs noticeably smoother and quieter with the Stanidyne.
No, it doesn't sound like a gasser, but the injectors make much less clatter with the Stanidyne than with other additives - or without.
I've done the fuel pickup and fuel line mods - it must be time to work up a regulated fuel return...
I consistently get 19-20 mixed higway and city. I took a 200 mile trip and got right at 24. My truck is a crewcab 2wd that I baby. I always keep it under 2k rpm (even from take off) which makes all the difference in the world. A lead foot will suck down fuel.
I have notice a slight loss in the past couple of weeks, but I think it is due to the winter blend.
